RESPONSIBLE SOURCING
We want to leave the world better than when we found it, in all senses of that concept. This is why we work hard to ensure all of the beautiful materials we work with are procured in a way that aligns with that ethos. Read about how we source our natural diamonds, lab grown diamonds, natural gemstones, 14k gold, 18k gold, platinum and sterling silver below.

ALL THINGS RESPONSIBLE SOURCING
Knowing where our materials come from is a central element that determines what we decide to include into our collections as well as our custom pieces that we make for our wonderful clients. We prioritize transparency in our material sourcing, ensuring we make informed decisions for our curated collections and bespoke creations for our valued clients.
We recognize the challenges associated with providing rare materials like gemstones, diamonds, 14k gold, 18k gold, platinum and sterling silver in a responsible manner. Therefore, we work closely with our trusted wholesale suppliers to ensure our products are produced in the most ethical way possible.

100% RECYCLED PRECIOUS METALS
Because of the centuries of mining and refining precious metals, this means that there is an abundance of these metals above ground already. Continuing to mine for materials out of the earth is unnecessary at this point. Additionally, refining practices and technology has made the process of reclaiming scrap gold, platinum and silver more efficient and more ecologically friendly. While refining can still be an environmentally taxing process, we choose to work with supplies on the forefront of this process, who are committed to implementing the latest technologies to improve their systems and safety.

NATURAL DIAMOND SOURCING
procures the majority of its diamonds directly from suppliers that manufacture rough diamonds. Most polished diamonds originate from Canada, South Africa, Botswana, and Namibia.
Our trusted suppliers are long-time members of the Diamond Manufacturers and Importers Association of America (DMIA). This means that we share their commitment to upholding the highest standards for ethics, integrity, and professionalism in the diamond industry.
All mined diamonds sold at LUX FORGE comply with the World Diamond Council System of Warranties and the Kimberley Process, which ensures rough diamonds are
- Exported and imported with a government-validated certificate stating the diamonds are conflict-free.
- Transported between signatory countries in a sealed, tamper-proof container.
- Sold with a statement from the seller on all invoices guaranteeing the diamonds sold are conflict-free.

LAB GROWN DIAMONDS
- With no need for large-scale land excavation, lab grown diamonds have a minimal impact on biodiversity and marine life. The production process is confined to controlled environments, avoiding habitat destruction.
- The creation of lab diamonds generates minimal waste compared to mining. Water usage is also significantly lower, as labs do not require large-scale water displacement or the management of toxic tailings, which are by-products in mining operations.
- The production of lab diamonds, particularly through Chemical Vapour Deposition (CVD) and High Pressure High Temperature (HPHT) methods, is energy-intensive, often requiring significant electricity likely sourced from fossil fuels. For instance, creating a 1-carat lab grown diamond can consume over 250 kWh. That said, carbon neutral lab grown be found. We do our absolute best to source net-zero carbon footprint diamonds whenever possible. This is made possible by carbon offsets, using renewable energy sources and other methods.
